Being a professional basketball player is always tough, but the grueling game schedule makes it even harder! National Basketball Association (NBA) teams often play games back-to-back—sometimes playing as many as four games in five days.
To help prevent player injuries, the NBA is making changes. The 2017-2018 season starts on October 20, more than a week earlier than usual. This will reduce the number of back-to-back games each team must play. The result: Players will get some much needed recovery time between games.
