Most plastic waste does not get recycled. Yet in the Netherlands, some plastic trash has been turned into a floating park. It opened in the summer of 2018.

To make the park, people set up floating traps in the New Meuse River. The traps collected plastic litter.

Then the plastic was sorted and melted. It was poured into a mold shaped like a hexagon. A hexagon is a six-sided shape.

In total, 28 hexagons were produced for the park. Many are filled with plants. And some shapes are for people to sit in and enjoy!
